I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
