During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the city experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy died and three other people were hurt.

The attacks follow nights of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
